About Kara Tutoring
Our former managing director, George Karassoulos, founded Kara Tutoring on 21 December 2018. While engaging in conversations with financially disadvantaged students on Reddit in early December, he heard a story from an Afghan teenager whose dream was to get a full scholarship into an American college. However, there was one thing holding him back from a scholarship - his academics.
George realized that not everyone has an equal opportunity in achieving their highest possible scores as many lack the guidance and support to do well. He wanted to ensure that all financially disadvantaged students have the opportunity to reach their full potential. More importantly, he wanted financially disadvantaged international students to be given the life-changing opportunity of studying in the US.
To achieve this, George founded Kara Tutoring in late December and volunteered tirelessly, giving free tutoring sessions to over 20 students by the end of the year. In early 2019, George realized that a team of tutors would make a profound difference to these communities. His dream was to eliminate the correlation between academic performance and income levels.
Kara Tutoring offers FREE SAT, SAT II, ACT, AP, IB, GCSE, A Levels, TOEFL, IELTS, Egzamin ósmoklasisty, Class 10 CBSE, WASSCE, & general subject tutoring for financially disadvantaged students.
After months of recruiting 260+ tutors worldwide, in over 45 countries on all inhabited continents, Kara Tutoring has cumulatively tutored hundreds of students for thousands of hours.
